Access Digital Media Inc. Signs Canadian Rights to DefinedSTEM
Saint John, New Brunswick, March 26, 2015 – Access Digital Media Inc. announces the signing of a long-term exclusive agreement with Defined Learning LLC of Evanston Illinois to provide their proven and popular DefinedSTEM platform to Canadian schools. Access Digital Media Inc. has rebranded the Canadian platform as AccessSTEM and continues to add Canadian content matched to curriculum in each Province.
AccessSTEM is an inquiry-based Teaching Platform that allows teachers to draw the connections between performance and literacy tasks with solving real-world problems that are experienced in real-life 21st Century Careers. AccessSTEM contains thousands of connections that allow teachers to answer the question that is on every students mind: “Why do I have to learn this?”
School boards across Canada have already begun to sign up schools to use and pilot AccessSTEM. Schools are part of education boards including Toronto Catholic District School Board in Ontario, Abbotsford School Board in BC, and the Nova Scotia Department of Education.
Greg Abrams, President of Access Digital Media Inc., says “AccessSTEM has the means to help education solve the skills shortage that exists in Canada by bringing S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) teaching tools into Canadian schools in an engaging and up-to-date way.” Greg goes on to say “As a technology-based company, we intend to approach other Canadian corporations to assist in creating more localized real-life projects that directly relate to the needs of a 21st Century Canadian economy.”
Access Digital Media will manage the marketing, customizing and licensing of the platform in Canada and has signed its first distribution agreement with Magic Lantern Media Inc., a leading educational distributor in Canada for more than 30 years. AccessSTEM is now available as a subscription service. Teachers and boards can go to the site for a free trial account, enabling them to have full access to the resources for a limited time. Individual training and group training for effective use of the platform is also available.
